Physio 4 has 131 Treatment Programs
Physio 4 has 131 Treatment Programs
Physio 4 Programs are divided into:
NMES (Neuromuscular Electrical Stimulation):
Used successfully in medical rehabilitation and as a compliment to athletic training on all levels. The process stimulates motor nerves to create muscle contractions.
Integrated Training:

NMES works well with motion and training therapy and can be safely combined with Active Training of:
Physio 4 has 68 NMES Programs divided into:
NMES Rehab: These programs are divided into 3 Therapeutic Areas:
|
Muscles: femoral biceps, quadriceps |
|
|
Hemiplegia - Shoulder |
Excellent compliment to traditional physiotherapy after a Stroke. Can be used to aid facilitation and re-learning of motor skills and also to reduce spasticity. |
NMES Urology: Effective treatment for Stress and Urge incontinence.
NMES Sport/Fitness: Programs are designed for the following body parts:
|
Upper Body |
Each program consists of 1-3 sequences with different aims. The 3 sequence programs always start with a Warm Up and end with Recovery Sequence to ensure balanced training. |
Serial Contractions: Grip & Release Stroke and other brain-injured patients need to facilitate training of regular functional movements. The serial contraction programs in the Phyio 4 train the following movement patterns: grip and release, hand to mouth motion, antiflexion synergia and standing up. The programs have been tested on stroke patients.

Training using muscle stimulation in serial contractions is an ideal compliment to other physical treatment methods designed to facilitate and re-educate functional patterns of movement. The muscles are activated in series so that the serial contraction is as close to the functional movement as possible.
TeNS:
|
Thoracic |
TeNS is used for both acute and long-term pain conditions - both nociceptive and neurogenic pain. TeNS may be sufficient as the only treatment form, but it is also a valuable compliment to other pharmacological and/or physical treatments. The stimulator has 41 TeNS programs, all designed for specific indications. With the Physio 4 you select a program according to the patient's complaint. The TeNS programs are divided into 4 groups: Nociceptive, Neurogenic, General & Special programs. Some examples of programs include neck pain, back pain, hip pain, menstrual pain and angina pectoris. |
Denervated Muscle Diagnostics/Treatment:
Physio 4 has a complete diagnostics system so you can diagnose the degree of denervation in a muscle. There are also preset programs for treating denervated muscles.
The aim is to maintain vitality and reduce muscular sclerosis so that the muscle is as functional as possible.
The success of treatment is largely dependent on well-defined stimulation parameters which should be defined for every patient and tested again during treatment. Remember you can store patient's diagnosis in the stimulator (50 patients).
Galvanic Currents:
|
Iontophoresis |
The Physio 4 offers direct current stimulation for 2 types of treatments: water treatment and iontophoresis. Water treatments increase circulation. The unit has programs for treating edema and hyperhidrosis (excessive hand and foot sweat). Water treatments are used on hands and feet, which are difficult to apply electrodes to for traditional treatment. The iontrophoresis programs are ideal for corticosteroid treatments of local inflammations such as bursitis, tendonitis, fascitis, myocitis and capsulitis. |
